Camping le Ruisseau is a well-equipped, top quality family-run site. Situated in the Basque country and close to the sea, the majestic peaks of the Pyrénées rise in the distance. The emplacements here are set in shady oakland and the site boasts its own lake, which is ideal for a quiet spot of carp fishing. The fantastic pool complex incorporates waterslides, a jacuzzi, sauna and an expansive sun terrace. Sports opportunities are plentiful – take to the tennis courts or the gymnasium, while young children will love the excellent play area and trampolines. In the evenings, entertainment is laid on during the height of the summer in the popular lively bar and on the terrace. The site lies close to a motorway but traffic noise is minimal.

From the north and south on the A63, exit at junction 4 and at the roundabout ('Giratoire de Barroilhet'), follow the signs to Bidart on the N10 where there is a sharp bend first to the right and then to the left, followed by a roundabout near the Intermarché supermarket.
*Turn left at this roundabout, then after 250m left again following signs for Camping le Ruisseau.
Follow this road down the hill until you come to a T-junction.
Turn left here.
After passing over the railway, then the autoroute, the site is a further 300m along this road on the right.
From Biarritz Airport, exit the airport on to the N10 and follow signs for Bidart.
Continue until you reach a roundabout opposite an Intermarché supermarket and then follow directions as above from *.

Local Area
Le Ruisseau is around a mile from the 12th century Basque town of Bidart which has dazzling white-washed buildings, good beaches and rocky coves. Both Bidart and Biarritz (2mls) offer many facilities including bars and restaurants. The nearest beach is ‘Centre Plage’, a five minute drive away. The beach is sandy and has big rolling waves making it perfect for body surfing and surfing.
For surfing enthusiasts, stylish Biarritz is a world famous haven and is also home to a superb zoo. The seaside resort and fishing port of St Jean de Luz (2mls) is also good for watersports and hosts confetti fights and many festivals during the summer months.
