Camping la Bien Assise is set in beautiful countryside on the edge of Guînes forest and close to the ferry ports. This ‘Castels et Camping’ site is family orientated, typically French and well cared for.
The atmosphere is peaceful, and there is plenty of space for the children to play, with the grassy emplacements located in the gently undulating parkland of an ancient château. The former stables have been carefully converted into a welcoming shop and bar, and the traditional French restaurant, La Ferme Gourmande, is set in an old farmstead where both locals and guests relish the gourmet fare. Budding sports stars can use the site facilities including tennis and mini-golf while off-site explore the extensive forest of Guînes on bike or by foot.

From the north and Calais:
Follow the A16/A26 for about 7km. At the interchange, take the A16 in the direction of Boulogne.
*Exit the motorway at junction 40 which is signpoted for Guînes.
Turn left onto the D215, following the signs for Frethun and Guînes.
At the roundabout after the Franglais wine outlet, turn left under the TGV line then turn right onto the D246.
After leaving Frethun, go straight ahead at the roundabout and follow the D215 through St Tricat and the edge of Hames-Boucres to the edge of Guînes.
At the stop sign at the end of the road, turn right.
At the roundabout take the exit to the left and you will see
signs for the campiste on the right.
From the Eurotunnel:
Exit the terminal onto the A16 in the direction of Boulogne then follow the directions from * above.
From Boulogne and the south:
Follow signs for Calais on the A16 and exit at junction 36, signposted Guînes. Follow the signs for Guînes along the D191 then D231.
At the roundabout just before you enter the town take the first exit, and you will see signs for the campsite.
Local Area
The town of Guînes is a ten minute walk from the site and offers a few cafés, restaurants and shops. The nearest large town is Calais, a twenty minute drive. The closest beach at Wissant (7mls) is sheltered between two headlands. It is an excellent sandy beach and is a favourite location for watersports including surfing and windsurfing.
The Nausicaä sea centre (25mins drive from site) is an exciting attraction which aims to raise public awareness of the sea with thousands of species of fish on display. Take a trip to Aqualud waterpark in Le Touquet (39mls) for a wet and wild day out, with slides, wavepools and a jacuzzi.
