With beamed ceilings and traditional sneck doors it provides an ideal retreat to return to after a day out walking and exploring the magnificent scenery of the northern reaches of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The cottage has a cosy and comfortable sitting room and a well equipped dining kitchen for enjoying those relaxed evening meals. The patio overlooks pretty hay meadows that abound with wild flowers in the summer and there are views of the steep valley sides where the characteristic miles of stone walls and field barns can be seen. There is truly outstanding scenery in every direction and the long distance path ‘The Pennine Way’ passes through Thwaite, a section renowned for its unforgettable views. Families or couples will delight in this ‘get away from it all location’, enjoy walks from the doorstep or scenic drives through this glorious corner of Yorkshire. The village has a pub with a tea room and restaurant within a short stroll of the cottage and 1 mile away the village of Muker has a village shop. The bustling market town of Hawes, 6 miles away is perfect for everyday shopping with traditional butchers, bakers and a convenience store. Alternatively there are galleries, shops, pubs and tea rooms in Reeth and the lively market town of Leyburn has several traditional shops and a convenience store, both just a picturesque drive away in lower down Swaledale. |

The little market towns of Bungay (2 miles) and Beccles (9 miles) offer interesting shops pubs and good restaurants.
