Harvest Cottage is a quintessential village cottage. Built of sandstone, with whitewashed walls and deep silled windows, it sits on the edge of the village green in the pretty hamlet of Fearn in the beautiful county of Ross-Shire. The cottage has been lovingly and painstakingly restored by its owners. The accommodation on the ground floor is all open plan. A bright, modern kitchen/ dining area leads through to a lovely lounge, dominated by a beautiful fireplace constructed from the original sandstone, with multi fuel stove creating a superb focal point French doors open out to the front which leads directly onto the pretty village green with traditional village pub on the far side. The solid wood staircase leads up to bright and airy modern bedrooms. From the landing there are amazing views across the open countryside to the Moray Firth beyond. The small hamlet of Fearn is situated just 10 minutes from some of the most stunning beaches in the Highlands. Nearby Shandwick bay is renowned for its beautiful golden sands and safe shallow bathing. The pretty fishing village of Portmahomack also has a lovely beach as well as a pub, cafe and a renowned fish restaurant. The owner of Harvest Cottage is a fisherman and would be delighted to take visitors on fishing excursions in his boat. Mackerel, halibut, skate and cod are all caught locally and fresh crab and lobster can also be obtained. This area is also close to the Moray Firth, famous for its resident Bottle nosed dolphins that are regularly seen and boat excursions to view the dolphins, seals and vast array of seabirds close to hand are available nearby. The pretty coastal towns and fishing villages dotted around this part of the coast are particularly charming, with small harbours, quaint cottages and unspoilt coastline. There is also a small ferry that runs across the Cromarty Firth from Nigg from June to October. The nearby town of Dornoch is delightful, with its 13th century Cathedral, sandstone cottages, old town jail, attractive small shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes. Royal Dornoch is also famous for its championship golf course and award winning beach, with miles of golden sand. Just a few miles further north is Dunrobin Castle, seat of the Dukes of Sutherland. With its stunning gardens modelled on Versailles and its fascinating history it offers a memorable day out There is also a wealth of sporting activities right on the doorstep, including golf, fishing, horse-riding, hill walking, sailing, canoeing and mountain biking. Harvest Cottage provides a perfect base for exploring the whole of the Highland region; it is only 40 minutes from Inverness, the Highland capital city.Property has oil central heating.

Killearn, a semi-detached former fisherman's cottage, has been lovingly extended to offer a very spacious, bright holiday home, which is warm, welcoming and has all the amenities of home. There are stunning views over the harbour and across the Dornoch Firth. Sliding doors in the dining room open onto the patio and walled garden, a perfect suntrap, with garden furniture and a barbecue. The children's playground and the beach are just steps away.Killearn is centrally located in the charming village of Portmahomack. The 'Port', as it is affectionately known to the locals, dates back to the Vikings and Picts and has a long fishing history. Small local fishing boats still share the waters with sailboats, windsurfers and, quite often, pods of dolphins. There are two small hotels as well as an excellent seafood restaurant. The crescent-shaped sandy beach is a playground for children and the local 9-hole golf course welcomes visitors, but for those who want to venture further, Tain Golf Course and Royal Dornoch are just a short drive away. Portmahomack is an ideal base for exploring the nearby Tarbet Ness Lighthouse, Tarbet Discovery Centre and the work of local potters and weavers. The world famous Glenmorangie Distillery is only 15 minutes away. Inverness is 50 mins by car. For a day trip, head north to John O'Groats or across to the West Coast.First floor: 2 twin bedrooms, shower room. One other room is kept locked. In a spectacularly beautiful and peaceful situation at the tip of the Tarbat Ness peninsula, this historic former lighthouse keeper's cottage enjoys magnificent unobstructed views - eastwards over low cliffs across the Moray Firth to the Cairngorms and westwards over pasture to the Dornoch Firth and Sutherland mountains. The cottage is all on one level with only 1 entrance step. The very well-maintained interior provides compact, comfortable, homely accommodation, with double glazing and central heating throughout. There are 2 acres of walled and fenced grounds surrounded by meadow and a heather clad Nature Conservancy area, providing wonderful hiking, fishing and bird watching on the doorstep. Seals and porpoises can often be seen playing off the rocky shore-line which is just 100 yards from the cottage. Portmahomack village, 3 miles away, has a shop, hotels, restaurant, golf course and a sheltered, gently shelving sandy beach. 1 double ,1 room with bunk beds for children 1 twin room off the sittingroom, kitchen, bathroom with electric shower. All electric with central heating. Fridge, auto washer/ dryer, microwave, colour television with SKY, payphone. Bed linen and towels are provided.
