The Foundry Apartment is a contemporary, open plan, two bedroom apartment in the picture postcard village of Charlestown.

Situated close to St. Austell on the South Cornwall coast, Charlestown was built as a Georgian trading port to serve the thriving clay and copper industries. Since the decline in the china clay industry, the harbour remains the epicentre of the village and was recently featured as a location in Tim Burton s re-creation of Alice in Wonderland. The harbourside is also the setting for the forthcoming Pirates of the Caribbean 4, On Stranger Tide, with Jonny Depp and co expected to descend upon the town for filming in the summer of 2010.

The annual Charlestown Regatta takes place during the last week of July and offers a fantastic programme of events and entertainment. Charlestown also makes an ideal base to explore the neighbouring towns, each with their own customs, traditions and events. Highlights include the annual Daphne Du Maurier Festival which takes place just a few miles away in the neighbouring town of Fowey, and the Royal Cornwall Show, a celebration of everything Cornish, which takes place annually in June.

St Austell itself is the meeting point of old and new Cornwall, of ancient narrow streets and pedestrian precincts with fine shops and restaurants. The Eden Project is nearby offering a unique, educational experience as well as a programme of events and concerts throughout 2010 including performances by Calvin Harris, Paulo Nutini, Jack Johnson and Mika.

Nearby Mevagissey also offers visitors the chance to see a local fishing village with numerous restaurants serving fresh harbour fish, or alternatively, the Eden Project is just a short drive away.

The village itself has a good selection of restaurants and pubs whilst the local area is full of excellent holiday activities.
