| The Barn is a delightful single story barn conversion on the outskirts of Shepton Mallet within the Mendip Hills in Somerset. The cottage has one double bedroom and one family room (with four beds) which with the addition of a family bathroom make it suitable for up to six people. There is a spacious fitted kitchen with a dining area and a sitting room with an electric fire. Outside the cottage is off road parking for three cars and a small lawned area and separate patio area with outdoor furniture. Being only five minutes' walk from the town centre, The Barn is in a superb location whether you want to explore the surrounding countryside, or just want to put your feet up and relax. |
| The town of Shepton Mallet is a lovely mixture of 'old and new', with old architecture and a weekly market, plus a variety of shops, pubs and eateries. Shepton Mallet is set in the Mendip foothills, and is at the geographical heart of the Mendip District. This is a beautiful landscape, with unique places to visit and activities for everyone. Shepton Mallet is home to the Royal Bath and West Showground; one of Britain's major agricultural shows is held here annually, and many other events are staged throughout the year. The town is positioned close to Wells, Glastonbury and Bath, and many family attractions including Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole Caves and East Somerset Railway are all within a 45 minute drive. |

Just 5 minutes' walk from Ditcheat's splendid pub serving food and the village shop this comfortable little cottage is perfect for walkers and cyclists as the national cycleway runs adjacent to it. Set in the grounds of the owners' home it lies within easy reach of a host of places of interest. Cheddar Gorge Wookey Hole Wells and Glastonbury are all nearby as are Castle Cary an old and pretty town of honey coloured stone and Street with its Clarkes shopping village. National Trust properties at Stourhead and Montacute are a delight Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton and Sparkford Motor Museum are well worth a visit. Golf tennis and swimming locally.

Surrounded by beautiful views of farmland and hills the cottage provides a tranquil place for those seeking some peace and quiet. There are many local attractions in the area to suit all tastes; Castle Cary Shepton Mallet Wells and Glastonbury are all within easy reach and the historic city of Bath is just 45 minutes drive away. There is also a new on-site health and beauty therapy suite which offers luxurious treatments to help you relax and unwind. Treatments can be arranged prior to your stay. In the evenings you could try one of the many local pubs serving good food or alternatively relax on the private patio and take in the views of the beautiful countryside.The accommodation comprises TWO bedrooms: one of which is on the ground floor with disabled access the other is on the first floor. Both bedrooms offer super king size beds (these can be made into twin beds on request). They also offer separate shower rooms WC and towel rails. Upstairs offers a large mezzanine landing with a single sofa bed available on request. Lounge/diner: large separate room with ample seating with comfortable double sofa bed and benefiting from a huge double-storey feature window. Large flatscreen TV/DVD player with a good choice of DVDs books and board games to entertain. Kitchen: situated downstairs and fully equipped with dishwasher microwave fan-assisted oven grill hob and washer/dryer. Outside: offers a large private South-facing garden laid to lawn and a large patio with BBQ facilities. Amenities: ample parking for several cars and a designated parking space for the cottage. Bed linen towels electric and full central heating included (additional heating charge of £20 per week from October - April). Regret no smoking or pets.
