This stunning, semi-detached barn conversion is set in the owner’s grounds and has been renovated with much attention to detail, retaining many original features. The sitting room takes advantage of the stunning countryside views with its picture windows and is a comfortable, welcoming room, accessed by three steps. The lovely fitted kitchen is a modern, well-equipped room and there is a cosy, dining room. The four bedrooms, one with en-suite, are full of character with exposed stone walls and old beams, and there is a ground floor wet room and a further bathroom on the first floor. There is a super outside patio area with shared use of the owner’s swimming pool, making this a lovely property from which to explore this special area.
Four miles from Ladybower Reservoir is the little hamlet of Hollow Meadows. It has a scattering of smallholdings and other farms and dwellings and has many footpaths and bridle-ways to explore. The dam at nearby Ladybower was used by the ‘Dambuster Squadron’ to practise for their air raid on the Ruhr Dams in 1945. The dam was created by flooding two villages, Ashopton and Derwent, amid much protest, and today they are tourist attractions. There are many amenities and attractions to be found in and around the Peak District. Sheffield is a short drive away and has art galleries, museums, leisure facilities along with a variety of shops and eateries. Hollow Meadows offers a versatile base in which to explore the Peak District and the city of Sheffield.

This property is a fabulous stone built semi-detached barn conversion in the grounds of the owner’s home. The barn has retained its oak and stone flooring along with some exposed beams. The well-fitted kitchen is on open plan with a bright and airy sitting room, and in addition there is another comfortable sitting area off the contemporary dining room. There are three stylishly decorated bedrooms, a double with an en-suite, and two twin rooms each with a pull out stacker bed. There is a well-appointed ground floor wet room and an elegant bathroom on the first floor. Outside a rear garden with raised decking, barbecue and garden furniture complete this dream house and make it a perfect base to explore the area.
The small hamlet of Hollow Meadows is only four miles from the Ladybower Reservoir and the Snake Pass in the lovely Peak District National Park. It lies close to the Rivelin Valley, which extends for almost four miles from the outskirts of Sheffield to the Hope Valley and Edale. The valley is lined with nearly 700 lime trees and it is the second longest lime tree avenue in Britain. Hathersage sits at the end of the Hope Valley and is believed to have inspired Charlotte Bronte to write Jane Eyre and the churchyard is supposedly the burial place of Little John. Hathersage has a variety of shops and eateries and an outdoor swimming pool open in the summer months. This is a lovely base for discovering the Peak District.
