As one of four detached, Scandinavian style wooden lodges, this property is set in a quiet rural location just three and a half miles from Masham. Situated down a long country lane, the property is ideal for families and comes with a large lawned area for ball games and a wooden veranda that runs along the front of the property. With a wooden table and chairs, visitors can enjoy al fresco dining or simply sit back and relax in the sunshine. Inside the property, the décor is simple but extremely comfortable with pine furniture to match the style of the lodge.
Situated in the lower reaches of the pretty Wensleydale region alongside the River Ure is the historic little market town of Masham. Boasting a huge market square - where a Wednesday market has recently been joined by a popular Saturday market – this charming settlement is set within gently rolling farmland. The town itself provides a good range of crafts, galleries, shops, restaurants and pubs and has become best known as the home to the Black Sheep Brewery – a company which makes over eleven million pints of beer every year. Through the idyllic surrounding scenery, visitors can enjoy a variety of walks along the Ure or across the hills and visit the popular towns of Ripon and Harrogate – both of which are just a short drive away.

The cottage has retained some original character features such as the old beams and fireplace, but has been recently modernised to include a sunny and spacious conservatory which is an excellent additional living and dining space and overlooks the south facing garden. The bedrooms are all of a good size, and a smaller room to the rear has a full size single bed but would suit a child. The cottage also has the convenience of a modern shower room on the ground floor as well as a family bathroom on the first floor. The patio to the rear is excellent for drinks or dining al fresco and catches the sun most of the day.

It has been renovated to a high standard and the cottage offers warm and comfortable accommodation with plenty of character. The spacious fitted kitchen is well designed and has a beautiful slate floor, there is a snug with an open fire and exposed beams, the main sitting dining room also has an open fire and a polished wooden floor and both rooms offer cosy and inviting spaces to relax in. The three bedrooms are light and elegant and the bathroom is of the same high standard as the rest of the property. This characterful cottage is a fabulous base offering quality accommodation in which to enjoy this glorious area.
The historic market town of Masham is situated in Wensleydale alongside the River Ure surrounded by gently rolling countryside. The town has a huge market place and was the site for annual sheep fairs with some of the animals coming from the Abbeys of Jervaulx and Fountains. The tradition still continues today in September but on a much smaller scale. The town has a good range of shops, restaurants and pubs and there is a market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There are many walks in the area including a 10-mile walk along the River Ure which is perhaps one of the best walks in the UK. With so much to see and do, this is a fabulous place for a holiday whatever the time of year.
