Today, it acts as a picturesque and historic base for visitors to explore the rest of the region. There are a number of good pubs and restaurants in which to dine and Meliden has its own attraction in the form of Gop Hill; a Neolithic burial mound that provides evidence of man’s existence in the area since the Stone Age. Nearby, Rhuddlan boasts its own majestic castle and there are a variety of National Trust properties to explore. Prestatyn, another nearby town, has achieved the coveted Blue Flag status for its beach and now plays host to holidaymakers looking to relax on the golden sands or indulge in the many water sports on offer. This semi-detached property has been well furnished and tastefully decorated to incorporate the exposed stone walls and beams of the original building. The beautifully established garden is ideal for dining out doors or relaxing with an evening drink. The property is able to sleep four people and offers easy access to many lovely walking and cycling trails, wide sandy beaches, and fascinating towns including Prestatyn and the Victorian resort of Llandudno.
Ideally positioned on the side of a hill in the quiet North Wales countryside, the tiny village of Gwaenysgor is situated within the Clwydian Hill Range, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
