Approached along a short lane, located on the outskirts of the village of Penruddock - 5 miles from Penrith and only 15 minutes drive to Lake Ullswater. Attached to the owner's house, this comfortable cottage has pleasant open views over the surrounding countryside, Lakeland fells and Pennines. An easy stroll will bring you to the local village inn which serves good food, with further ample facilities in nearby Penrith, known as 'The Gateway to the Northern Lakes', including swimming pool, golf course, ample shopping and open-air markets. Situated in a fantastic area for cycle touring and mountain biking with a large network of quiet lanes and off road; for fell walkers Blencathra and Helvellyn are within easy reach. The cottage has a lovely lawned garden for relaxing in after a day exploring the splendid scenery of the Lake District National Park. |

Situated within the National Park this stunning barn conversion provides the very best in self catering accommodation. The owners have considerable experience of preparing holiday cottages and have used this to make Greenhow into what it can only be described as Deluxe accommodation. The property has a well balanced mix of antique and top quality, complimentary modern furnishings and an excellent standard of facilities and appliances to create a wonderful holiday cottage even the most discerning customers will enjoy. The cottage is full of character and has exposed stonewalls, a solid oak staircase and flooring in parts, original beams and inglenook fireplace all of which help to create a pleasing ambiance for a relaxing enjoyable holiday.
Greenhow is situated between Penrith and Keswick in an area known as Penruddock, which has 2 very good pubs each with restaurants, and approx 0.5 miles from the cottage. It is easily accessible from the M6, just a 10 minute drive and in close proximity to Ullswater and the north and western lakes. |
