Availability and booking information
This traditional stone cottage has been beautifully renovated and offers comfortable accommodation in a perfect location to explore the surrounding countryside. The cottage is located in the old town of Glossop and has views from the rear of the property over to Shelf Moor, which contains over 50 crash sites dating back to the second world war. Old Glossop is a quaint village steeped in history with several period buildings with the old market cross still visible to this day. Manor Park is a stones throw away, as well as three local pubs offering real ale and traditional fare. The local shops and restaurants are less than a mile away. The area has an abundance of walks, cycle routes and horse riding paths including Longdendale Trail, Pennine way, Crowden and Derwent reservoir made famous by the Dambusters .

The market town of Glossop is a busy, bustling former old mill town which to this day still has a weekly market and has many family run shops. Glossop is ideally located to head into the Peak National Park. Glossop boasts a Victorian swimming pool set in the grounds of Howard Park once home to Lord Howard. A twenty minute train ride away takes you to the Centre of Manchester with all a big city has to offer.

The spa town of Buxton is a scenic short drive away and has many interesting shops, bars and restaurants and a picturesque park area with a walk way all the way round. Spring Gardens is within the park and a very popular attraction, offering a restaurant, The Opera House (with famous celebrity appearances) and numerous visiting exhibitions on display throughout the year.
Heading out of Buxton via some pretty dramatic scenery is Macclesfield and Leek, both market towns and both offering many walks and cycle paths in the surrounding areas.
Further south from the cottage is the fascinating market town of Bakewell, where you can visit the Monday market providing locally produced fruit and veg. The town has many unique restaurants and cosy inns and has a quaint river running through the centre of the town. Chatsworth House and Park and Haddon Hall are located just outside Bakewell and within easy reach of the property. They provide an excellent day trip out with stunning views, and historic features.

A great location with easy access to some of Derbyshire and Cheshire's most interesting towns and villages.
