The house is just a 'putt' away from two excellent golf courses. There is much to do and see around this area including horse riding, hill walking, swimming, fishing or visit the butterfly house or the nature reserve. With easy access to Belfast it is an ideal base for touring Northern Ireland.

Perfect for family reunions and celebrations year round it lies about 7 miles from the historic town of Monmouth. Here as well as shops inns restaurants and a good range of leisure facilities including an indoor pool cinema and theatre the visitor can explore the Nelson Museum and hire canoes or bicycles for a traffic free trip along the the beautiful Wye Valley and its riverbank. Just a little further afield and known as the gateway to the Brecon Beacons is the market town of Abergavenny (12 miles) and only 3 miles away the village of Skenfrith offers an award winning restaurant pleasant riverside walks and a 13th century castle one of many in the area – a visit to magnificent Raglan Castle is a must. Tintern Abbey floral Usk and RSPB Symond's Yat are all a short drive whilst Hereford's impressive cathedral and Chepstow racecourse are about 20 miles distant. World class golf (Ryder Cup 2010) fishing canoeing riding and excellent walking are all available locally. A pub serving food is 3 miles shops in Monmouth 7 miles.

Hadrian Cottage is a semi detached cottage in the village of Heddon-on-the-Wall just eight miles from Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The cottage has two twin bedrooms and one double (with a shower cubicle) and two family bathrooms which make it suitable for six people. The rest of the accommodation is made up of a kitchen, a dining room, two sitting rooms and a conservatory. To the outside of the cottage is off road parking for two cars and a small enclosed garden with outdoor furniture and a barbecue. With the city of Newcastle Upon Tyne close by, Hadrian Cottage is a perfect base for exploring this part of Northumberland.
Situated south of the River Tyne is Heddon-on-the-Wall, on the line of the old Hadrian’s Wall, with a section of wall still visible at the edge of the village. The village is surrounded by farms and open countryside, yet nearby the historic village of Wylam, the birthplace of George Stephenson, and also the town of Corbridge, which has an array of small shops. Just fourteen miles away from Heddon-on-the-Wall is the town of Hexham with its Abbey, Old Gaol and town centre. The bustling city of Newcastle upon Tyne is within driving distance and has many attractions, shops and eateries which will suit all tastes. Heddon-on-the-Wall is an ideal base to explore the many attractions, villages and towns in the area.
