| Situated on the borders of North West Derbyshire and Cheshire is the small town of New Mills, forming part of the Derbyshire Peak District. Although the settlement dates back to the 13th Century, the late 20th Century saw the Torrs Riverside Park – often called 'the park under the town' - come into being as a place for recreation and relaxation. To promote tourism in the area, the New Mills Heritage Centre was opened and visitors can enjoy this as well as The Torrs Millennium Walkway, a much-admired bridge set deep within the gorge. Just five miles away is Chapel en le Frith - the Capital of the Peaks – that boasts a cobbled market place complete with historic old stocks. The spa town of Buxton is within easy driving distance and is famous not only for its therapeutic spring water but also for its Pavillion Gardens and splendid Victorian Opera House. |

The cottage boasts one double and one twin bedroom - both with views of the countryside - and a family bathroom making it suitable for four people. The rest of the accommodation comprises a well equipped kitchen and a sitting room with a dining table and an open fire. Outside the cottage is off road parking for two cars, a rear lawn and a front lawn overlooking a stream. With a family friendly pub serving food opposite, 3 Ivy Cottages is bound to appeal to anyone wanting to explore this part of the Peak District. |
| The High Peak hamlet of Rowarth is set amidst countryside on the edge of the Peak District National Park, and offers much in the way of walking. There is access from the hamlet directly up onto Kinder Scout via an ancient track, along with many moorland paths and the opportunity to join up with the Pennine Way. Rowarth has a family friendly pub which offers good food, a children's play area, an award-winning restored mill wheel and a lovely riverside terrace. With the rest of the Peak District National Park within easy reach, the market towns of Buxton and Bakewell a short drive, and a variety of historic houses, pretty villages, Alton Towers theme park and much more in the area, this is a great Peak District base. |
