Many of our recent visitors have mentioned one or other of the above reasons for visiting Hillcroft and all have said they felt better after the break however short it was.
Enjoy the home comforts, the antiques, the china, the wooden beams, the stone staircase as well as every necessity for self catering. Hillcroft has evolved in comfort over the last 50 years; it's our second home make it yours too if only for a short time.
It's in a lovely village Langthwaite, beloved of TV producers and film makers in the recent past. It's bang in the middle of Yorkshire's remotest dale and perhaps its most scenically stunning.
Detatched from the cottage this extends up the hillside from a lower patio (see photos) to a top patio with summerhouse affording magnificent views along Arkengarthdale from Calva to Kitley. 9more photos). The summerhouse not only boasts the usual patio furniture but also has light and power. The path is automatically lit at night by solar powered lights. |

| The Curlews is a lovely traditional stone terraced cottage providing comfortable holiday accommodation in the peaceful and quiet village of Langthwaite in Arkengarthdale. The cottage is very cosy, retaining traditional features such as an open fire, flagstone floors and beamed ceilings in the lounge, combined with the recently modernised kitchen. |

| Garbutt cottage is set in a south facing position in the ‘picture postcard’ village of Langthwaite, just 3 miles from Reeth. With the babble of the beck running at the bottom of the garden, this idyllic cottage is perfect for a peaceful holiday ‘away from the madding crowd’. It is ideal for walkers and cyclists with a myriad of footpaths giving access to the fells almost from the doorstep. The cottage is ideal for two, but an extra bedroom accessed through the inner hallway provides one single bed and a stowaway bed which can also be made available, making it suitable for additional adults or children who are old enough to be reasonably independent. Compact, but comfortably furnished with a wood burning stove and electric storage heaters for cooler months, and a peaceful garden with table and chairs overlooking fields with the beck running alongside. The village has a good pub just a short walk away and the C.B. Inn with its excellent restaurant is less than half a mile up the dale. Reeth is a 10 minute drive and has a post office, shops, tea rooms, restaurant and inns. |
