Grasmere village is a short stroll away and offers a good selection of interesting tea shops and galleries as well as a co-op store and an excellent bakery for everyday provisions.
Built in the 19th century, the cottage is delightfully presented with original flagged floors, oak beams and original gas lights, now converted to electric and these features have been combined with pretty decor and hand picked accessories, depicting the famous writers this fantastic location inspired.

On the second floor of this converted gentleman's residence, built in 1850, Loughrigg Apartment is well furnished and comfortable. The two shower rooms, one en-suite, make this an ideal location for two couples and with that all important private parking place, there is little need to use the car.
