| This is a beautiful detached stone cottage set in the owner’s home grounds in the conservation village of Old Glossop. It is a charming property and offers spacious and comfortable accommodation for two people, perfect for a romantic getaway. The well-equipped kitchen is on open plan with the dining room and the lovely beamed sitting room is restful after a busy day’s sightseeing. The double bedroom is a delightful relaxing haven and there is a light, bright shower room, whilst outside there is a charming enclosed patio garden with garden furniture and barbecue, just the thing for al fresco dining. The access to the cottage is via a footbridge from the roadside parking area, setting the scene for a magical holiday in a stunning location. |
| This millstone grit village is surrounded on three sides by the beautiful Peak District National Park. Old Glossop can be reached along the Snake Pass, aptly named because of the way it winds past dramatic and exceptional scenery. Around the original market square, the village has houses dating back to the 17th and 18th Centuries and a splendid Norman Church, with, rumour has it, a haunted vicarage. Eastwards on the Snake Pass will take the holiday maker past the Ladybower and Derwent Reservoirs, where the famous Dambuster Squadron practised. Nearby Glossop provides a range of amenities and access to the spectacular Peak District with the towns of Buxton and Castleton in the Hope Valley within easy reach. | The Cow Shed is a detached stone barn conversion, in the grounds of the owner's home in the town of Glossop on the edge of the Peak District National Park. The cottage is ideal for two people as it contains a double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and an open plan living area with a kitchen, a dining area, handmade stained glass window and a sitting area with a woodburning stove. There is outside space at this cottage, as well as off road parking for two cars. Sitting on the edge of the Peak District, The Cow Shed is a wonderful cottage for anyone wishing to explore this lovely part of the country. |
| The town of Glossop in the west of Derbyshire is surrounded by some of the most magnificent scenery in the Peak District. With ample of shops, pubs and restaurants, the town is also ideally placed for making the most of the nearby Peak District National Park, or the spa town of Buxton. Close also is Hayfield, a peaceful and quiet village and popular with walkers who are attracted by its close proximity to Kinder Scout. |
