| This traditional stone built property hides a tasteful modern interior, comprising a first floor large lounge with cosy open fire and leather sofas. Open plan to the dining area and then through to the kitchen, where double doors lead you out onto a raised decked balcony, where you can enjoy both the sun rising and setting. Braehead sits at the east end of Loch Earn in the charming village of St Fillans, with wonderful mountain views and is only a minute's walk from the Loch side. This is a beautiful location to drive to from any direction but it is also stunning to see from the air, so you could treat yourselves and arrive by sea plane nearly to your door! This is the most easterly point of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park and St Fillans is a great base from which to explore. Loch Earn is 6.5 miles long and is a popular area for water sports and fishing, with stunning scenery all round. There are great walks, Munros to climb or enjoy touring around and finding beautiful less explored roads. For golfing enthusiasts St Fillans has its own 9 hole golf course. Cycle in the forests or on the Sustrans National Cycle Route which runs through Lochearnhead on the disused Callander to Oban railway line. Cycle to Rob Roy's grave located in the churchyard at Balquhidder or through Glen Ogle to Killin to see and hear the roaring water at the falls of Dochart. Hire a boat to explore the loch, try to catch a brown trout and find the remains of three crannogs; Neish Island is the largest and is the site of Loch Earn Castle. A visit to Kenmore (31 miles) will let you see a crannog fully restored at the Scottish Crannog Centre. A lovely drive to Crieff (12 miles) will provide you with excellent shops and leisure facilities. The Famous Grouse Experience at the Glenturret Distillery is located just outside Crieff. Various annually organised events occur in the surrounding area around St Fillans, including a sheep shearing competition, highland games, hill running, loch swimming challenges and model seaplane conventions to name a few.Property has gascentral heating. |
