| The lovely coastal village of Courtmacsherry lies between The Seven Heads peninsula and The Old Head of Kinsale on the West coast of Cork, and has a sheltered harbour with gorgeous views over the bay to the18th Century smuggler’s cottages. The harbour itself is a popular spot for anglers with sea bass and flounder fishing available. For the more energetic visitor there is a 100 metre trek to the top of the Coolim Cliffs and the breathtaking panoramic view takes in many of the local landmarks including Barry’s Point, Old Head, Dunwhorley Bay and Seven Heads, making it a worthwhile exercise. The beautiful beach is an ideal spot for surfers, and with many other activities on offer in the area the village makes a tremendous base for a year round holiday destination. |
