| The Upper House Farm Cottages are a pair of semi-detached barns that were originally built in the 18th Century. They have been lovingly restored and each property has 2 bedrooms, offering accommodation for groups of up to 4 people. Upper House Farm Cottage 2 retains much of its charm through original features, such as exposed beams and yet is decorated to a modern and high standard throughout. It backs onto a pretty garden at the rear, from which you can soak up the stunning scenery or enjoy a spot of alfresco dining in the summertime. |
| The reason for this is Kinlet Hall, built in 1729. The old village was demolished and turned into a landscaped park. The inhabitants were banished to beyond the main road, where the Eagle & Serpent pub now stands. Today, Kinlet nestles on the edge of the Wyre Forest, which boasts some of the best attractions in the Midlands; including the exciting West Midlands Safari Park and the vintage Severn Valley Railway. For history-buffs, there are a number of ancient castles and monuments in the area, such as Stokesay Castle ('the finest and best preserved 13th century fortified manor house in England') and Witley Court ruins, with its huge fountains and fabulous church, complete with stunning Italianate baroque interior. In addition, Kinlet is within easy reach of Wenlock Priory, Boscobel House and Ironbridge. |
