Separated by a long village green, it is an attractive, peaceful little village of stone built cottages, formerly housing the lead miners of long ago. Quietly located with magnificent views across to Pen Hill, this detached character cottage with its low beamed ceilings and open fire offers a cosy, secluded retreat with excellent walking from the doorstep. A nearby footpath across the fields leads to the village pub in Redmire whilst the village of Aysgarth with its famous waterfalls is only 4 miles away. Leyburn (6 miles) has everyday shopping and a Friday market as well as pubs serving excellent bar meals, restaurants and tea-shops. This is an excellent base for exploring Wensleydale and Swaledale. |
