Aaron Cottage is situated in the pretty village of Castle Carrock, which lies at the northern end of the beautiful Eden Valley and right on the edge of the Pennine Hills. The location will appeal to those who enjoy walking and cycling in more peaceful surroundings, with the attraction of easy access to Carlisle, Hadrian's Wall, the Scottish Borders and the Lake District. The cottage is an attractive sandstone barn conversion with traditional features and good quality furnishings. The village pub has an a la carte menu as well as serving bar meals. There is a golf course close by, Talkin Tarn country park and a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants in Brampton, 4 miles.

Altogether an ideal, quiet retreat on the fringe of the village of Moorhouse, providing a relaxing holiday and base for exploring in a beautiful, little known part of Cumbria. The Solway Plain is ideally situated to access the many features and attractions in Cumbria, the Lake District and the Borders.


The historic city of Carlisle lies 4 miles to the East with a wealth of shops, restaurants and visitor attractions including museums, Castle and Cathedral. The nearby Solway Coast is an area of natural beauty with an abundance of bird life. The Solway Plain is flat so ideal for cycling the Cumbrian Cycle Way, which passes the house.
