Cark in Cartmel, at the southern tip of the Lake District and close to the shores of Morecambe Bay is to day a charming, quiet village just a mile from Cartmel itself. But Cark wasn't always so peaceful as it was once, in the 18th and 19th centuries, a bustling centre for the nearby mills and associated industries. To day the village has many a lovely walk round white washed cottages and down leafy lanes, 2 pubs, a village shop and a post office and in fact, there are 9 excellent pubs within 3 miles radius, sufficient scope for quenching even the biggest of thirsts.
A former gentleman's residence, Cark House was granted listed status and has recently been sympathetically divided to provide several, first class properties. 2 Cark House is a comfortable, ground floor apartment with stylish and spacious living areas and quality fittings throughout. Only 20 minutes away from Bowness and Windermere, the busier resorts are easily accessible from Cark although we're certain that once discovered, the quiet, rural appeal of this area will tempt you back year after year.

Cark in Cartmel, at the southern tip of the Lake District and close to the shores of Morcambe Bay is today a charming, quiet village just a mile from Cartmel itself, home to the famous racecourse and priory. But Cark wasn't always so peaceful as it was once, in the 18th and 19th centuries, a bustling centre for the nearby mills and associated industries. Today the village has many a lovely walk around white washed cottages and leafy lanes, Holker Hall and gardens - the neo Elizabethan mansion and home of Lord and Lady Cavendish, 2 pubs, a village shop and a post office - in fact, there are 9 excellent pubs (and a Michelin starred restaurant) within a 3 mile radius, sufficient scope for quenching even the biggest of thirsts.
A former gentlemans residence, Cark House is a listed building and has been sympathetically divided into first class apartments. 6 Cark House is a penthouse apartment, extremely stylish and of excellent quality. The living areas are very spacious and the interesting low set windows with deep sills are the perfect place to sit and sip an aperitif whilst gazing down at the River Ea and the beautiful grounds and countryside below. Only 20 minutes away from Bowness and Windermere, the busier resorts are easily accessible from Cark although we're certain that once discovered, the quiet, rural appeal of this area will tempt you back year after year.
