| Stables Cottage is a lovely cottage nestled beautifully between Eskdale and Liddesdale and close to the River Esk one of Scotlands greatest salmon fishing rivers as it winds its way to its estuary at the Solway Firth. This lovely old steading dates back to 1850 and was once the stables to the home of the head forester but has now been sensitively restored retaining the charm of the original building, yet boasting all modern comforts ensuring your stay is comfortable and relaxing.All of the windows have attractive views of either the woodlands or the lovely countryside and the charming gardens to the main house. What a super base this is for exploring this stunning part of South West Scotland. the area is a haven for wildlife and is ideal for those simply seeking relaxation, as well as being ideally located for those who enjoy fishing, walking or cycling. Discover the stunning county of Dumfries and Galloway with its 200 miles of dramatic coastline or travel to the scenic Borders and the beauty of The Lake District. Kielder Forest and Hadrian's Wall are also within a short drive.
