From the doorstep many walks can be taken around the country lanes and over the National Park including Haytor and Yarner Woods. Widecombe-in-the-Moor is a short drive away. Travel over Dartmoor to Princetown Tavistock or Plymouth or visit the many picturesque villages for a traditional Devon cream tea. The cathedral city of Exeter is nearby and the beaches of the South Hams and Torbay are also a short drive away. Attractrions in the area include Babbacombe Model village Crealy Devon Nation Trust properties including Castle Drogo and Killerton House. The wilds of Dartmoor with its excellent walking and riding are nearby and there are four golf courses in easy reach. There are some lovely local walks through Yarner Nature Reserve with Haytor a well-known Dartmoor landmark only two miles away. Nearby Bovey Tracey has a good selection of shops restaurants and pubs and is home to the Devon Guild Craftsman.
