Burnside Cottage is situated on a south facing hillside above the small Highland village of Bonar Bridge in Sutherland. It enjoys lovely views across the Kyle of Sutherland to the hills and mountains beyond. The cottage was originally built in the 19th century, adjoining earlier croft buildings and has since been sympathetically extended and recently upgraded to provide bright and spacious accommodation throughout. The cottage is surrounded by its own large, mature garden grounds, which are a real feature of the property. Lawned areas are interspersed with pretty shrubs, mature trees and attractive old stone patios. A conservatory along the length of the cottage provided an excellent viewing point over the gardens and surrounding hills and valleys. With an open plan kitchen/ breakfast/ living room, separate formal dining room and cosy lounge with lovely open fireplace, all with superb views, it offers very generous accommodation in a beautiful setting. The cottage is situated in a quiet country location yet it is just a short (1/2 mile) walk to the centre of Bonar Bridge. It is a pretty village set on the banks of the Kyle of Sutherland, the confluence of four renowned Highland salmon rivers, and offers good facilities, including restaurants, pubs and small shops.
