| Briardene is situated right in the heart of this lovely Nidderdale village, just a five minute walk from the popular riverside town of Pateley Bridge. Recently renovated, well equipped and tastefully furnished in modern style it has full gas central heating and a wood burning stove in the sitting room. There is a garden/patio to the rear with table and chairs for relaxing after a busy day exploring and the cottage is ideally located for discovering the delights of this lovely dale. There are stately homes and gardens to visit in the area including Studley Royal, Ripley Castle, Fountains Abbey, and Harlow Carr Botanical Gardens. The scenic area around Gouthwaite reservoir, known as ‘Little Switzerland’ is excellent for walking and bird watching and leads up to How Stean Gorge, a steep sided ravine, 80ft deep in places. The village has a local pub serving good food with day to day shops, teashops, restaurant and pubs in Pateley Bridge. |
