The Old Post Office has been recently restored to the highest standards which, combined with the availability of every modern convenience, provides the perfect base for a holiday in the lakes. This lovely, spacious property has been well prepared for holiday makers and offers high quality fixtures and fittings throughout. There is a fully enclosed garden to the side with lovely views over the open fells. The garden mostly laid to lawn has an ornamental pond which is securely covered with sturdy mesh to stop little feet and paws paddling. Garden furniture and barbecue are provided.
The Old Post Office is conveniently located near to all the South Lakes favourites, five minutes from Lake Windermere and Fell Foot National Trust Park. It is a short drive to Cartmel with it's well known races, and is handy for Grizedale Forest Park. The Lakeside and Haverthwaite railway is 15 minutes away on foot and takes you to the Lakeside Steamers sailing to Bowness and Ambleside. The local pub, a short walk away, is a renowned CAMRA award winner .
Guests with dogs or young children will love to take advantage of the public footpath to the fells opposite the house to run off their energy. It's a 5 minute walk to The Whitewater Hotel and Health Centre which offers daily membership at 10 per adult and 5 for children, well worthy of a visit for the keep fit enthusiast or alternatively lazily pass a damp day and finish in the recently renovated bar overlooking the river and waterfalls.

| Backbarrow, 1 1/2 miles from the South of lake Windermere, was home to the Backbarrow Ironworks who produced domestic iron goods such as kettles and box irons but were also renowned for the manufacture of cannons and other armaments. The days of industry are long gone and Backbarrow is now a super village visited by holidaymakers exploring the nearby Haverthwaite Railway and Furness Wildlife Park as it is easily accessible to all areas of the National Park by either car or public transport. Ben's Row Cottage is in a quiet position in Brow Edge and has been lovingly restored and furnished to create a super holiday home. Flat screen TV's and large American style fridge dictate the modern and quality style throughout the interior whilst the enclosed garden with decked area continues the theme outside. |

| Lynwood Cottage occupies an elevated position within the village of Backbarrow, a mere 2 miles south of Newby Bridge at the southern tip of Lake Windermere. The area is an ideal base from where to explore the delights of the Furness Peninsular, the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway and, of course, the steam cruisers on the lake itself. The property is also within easy reach of Grizedale Forest, home to the 'Go Ape' attractions, a series of climbs and walkways set above the forest floor, all with the security of safety harness! Newly refurbished in a modern style with much use of bright co-ordinating linens and fabrics throughout, Lynwood is a comfortable and quality home and enjoys direct access from the rear onto the surrounding fells. We are certain that ample of attractions will keep the whole family busy but for a change of scenery and all important relaxation, a day at the nearby Whitewater Leisure Centre can be enjoyed for 10 per adult and 5 per child, payable locally. |
