| Ardachy is a modern detached house situated at the head of Loch Long in Glen Loin. The property enjoys stunning views over the Arrochar Alps and has a large open garden set within180 acres of private grounds - a holiday paradise for families or the gathering of friends. The superb, large lounge has an eye catching, wood effect oil stove and breathtaking views over the mountains. The kitchen is warm and welcoming with a lovely, large family dining table and the master bedroom is spacious with en suite facilities including a luxurious spa bath. All bedrooms afford lovely views over the countryside. This location is a joy for outdoor lovers as it provides easy access to superb hill walking and mountain bike country. For example, the start of the breathtaking walk up Ben Arthur (better known as "The Cobbler") is only half a mile away. The local village of Arrochar is within easy walking distance and is situated at the head of Loch Long. The village is located within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and only 2 miles from Loch Lomond itself. It enjoys a beautiful aspect on the shore of a sea loch and surrounded by mountains - visitors will delight in this splendid backdrop while exploring the local shops, hotels and pubs. Of course no visit would be complete to this most scenic of Scottish regions without a trip to the majestic Loch Lomond. A variety of boat excursions around and over the loch are available and it is also possible to hire a canoe or kayak; fishing permits are also available. The small, picture- postcard village of Luss sits on the banks of the mighty loch and is well worth a visit. Balloch, at the end of the loch, is home to the National Park Gateway Centre and gateway to the beautiful countryside of the Trossachs region. Helensburgh, to the south, has an excellent range of amenities and leisure facilities and is also the location of "The Hill House", an architectural gem designed by the famous Charles Rennie MacKintosh, and a must see for any admirers of fine buildings. Inveraray, to the west, is a seafood capital of the region with an international reputation for fine cuisine. The Inveraray Jail and Castle provide an excellent day out. For visitors who desire a change of scene, there are good transport links in the area to Glasgow, one of Scotland's great cities. |
