Great care has been taken to preserve architectural details, such as the fine sandstone feature wall in the spacious bedroom and exposed original beams in the living room. This luxurious single storey property is particularly wheelchair-friendly and has a secluded private conservatory/garden/patio with lovely views. Walks in the rolling countryside start from the doorstep. Armathwaite on the River Eden, with its station on the famed Settle-to-Carlise railway line, shop and Post Office is a little over a mile away; and the Lakes, Hadrian's Wall and historic Carlisle easily reached, with several dining pubs nearby. The owners keep rare breed sheep and are happy to share their enthusiasm for the surrounding area with visitors. |
