| Doire An Daimh is Gaelic for "thicket of the stags", which is the name of the mountain behind this lovely property and also describes its lovely woodland setting, where deer and also badger are regular visitors. This bright, modern detached cottage is situated in an elevated position and enjoys stunning views over the hills and mountains, with picturesque Loch Shiel in the foreground. It is immaculately presented with a lovely deep leather suite, luxurious bathroom with large Jacuzzi bath, en suite facilities to the master bedroom, solid oak flooring throughout and a bright, spacious kitchen/breakfast room with separate dining room. It offers total seclusion in a breathtaking setting. A special feature of the cottage is the raised decking areas which provide outside dining space, maximising the amazing views across the Peninsula to the small isles of Muck, Rhum and Eigg to the west. Acharacle is a pretty village. It offers a bakery, small shop, tearoom, pub and restaurant, all within walking distance from the property. Set in 18 acres, there are numerous woodland walks adjoining the cottage (wild chanterelle mushrooms grow nearby - a real treat to add to your breakfast or BBQ). The Ardnamurchan peninsula is a totally unspoilt area of the western Highlands. It offers an abundance of wildlife; otters, pine marten, seals, deer, whales, dolphins and numerous bird species can be sighted in the region. Take a trip to Ardnamurchan Point, the most westerly part of the UK mainland and visit the lighthouse. Discover Sanna Bay, with its beautiful white shell beach and turquoise blue sea offering views of the Inner Hebrides. Spend a fascinating day at Glenmore Natural History centre or visit the atmospheric 13th century Castle Tioram, perched on a rocky promontory jutting out into Loch Moidart. The beautiful Isle of Mull is also easily accessible by boat trip from Ardnamurchan. Enjoy a day wandering around the picturesque town of Tobermoray with its brightly coloured houses clustered around the bay. Fort William, the home of Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis, is known as the 'outdoor capital of the Highlands' is less than an hour's drive away. It offers an excellent selection of shops and restaurants as well as a wealth of outdoor activities.With hill walking, sailing, canoeing, climbing, fishing, mountain biking, golf and horse riding, together with stunning beaches and an abundance of wildlife this area is truly an outdoor enthusiast's paradise.Property is all at ground floor level, has oil central heating and solid oak flooring. |
