The Trossachs provide a scenic splendour that never fails to entrance the visitor. There are historical connections with Mary Queen of Scots, Rob Roy and Sir Walter Scott amongst others but these days visitors come to walk in the beautiful hills, fish in the lochs and streams or just relax. Just over one hour's drive from Glasgow or Edinburgh, the Forest Hills Lochside Resort is the perfect choice for a family holiday, a first visit to Scotland or even a long-weekend. Its setting at the foot of forested south facing hills overlooking Loch Ard provides superb views. The Hotel and apartments stand in 25 acres of parkland with winding paths, rocky waterfalls and rustic bridges. A wide variety of outdoor activities are available for guests INCLUDING: tennis court, fishing and cycle hire. Activity programme for all ages including supervised activities for 5-11 year olds in the Kidz Club. Events also include wine and whisky tastings and a popular Scottish night.The swimming pool / leisure centre is currently being upgraded and the new facility should be available by the end of August. In the meantime, guests may use the swimming pool facilities at Callander Leisure Centre (25 mins drive)Outwith the resort, arrangements can be made for clay pigeon shooting, golf and pony trekking. Tuition and equipment can be provided. The Rafters Bar and Restaurant within the leisure centre provides snacks all day, bar lunches and evening grill menu. The Forest Hills Hotel boasts a superb restaurant for that special night out (baby sitting can be arranged).For your stay, accommodation is provided in the Garden Apartments - all are furnished to the highest standard and provide every comfort: the living area has soft leather sofas, television and DVD and gives access to the balcony with garden furniture. There is a lovely oak fitted kitchen off the living room with split level oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, indeed everything you could wish, even picnic equipment. All bed linen and towels are provided. Cots and high chairs available by arrangement.The 2 bedroom lodge apartment sleeps up to 6 and has 2 bedrooms (twin or double as preferred), one with en suite shower room, pull-down double wall bed (or sofa bed) in the lounge; kitchen, bathroom.

Creag Mhor Cottage is a lovely detached property located in the heart of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, on the outskirts of the popular village of Aberfoyle. The cottage is newly re-furbished and immaculately presented throughout. The floors are wooden laminate, with tiles in the kitchen and bathroom. The lounge has two leather sofas, an open coal fire and large picture windows making the room bright and airy. The kitchen is fully fitted and well equipped with a breakfast bar area. Both bedrooms are beautifully co-ordinated. The garden is spacious with lawn to the front and a gravel driveway, behind the property is ancient woodland. This lovely cottage sits only a mile from the village and all essential amenities. Stunning Loch Ard is only 4 miles away; boat / canoe hiring facilities are available; so you can explore the small islands, a crannog or perhaps go fishing. This is a fantastic location for outdoor enthusiasts, as you have the vast Queen Elizabeth Forest right on your door step. There are endless miles of forest roads and trails to explore, both walking and cycling. The Trossachs has spectacular mountains to climb such as Ben Lomond, Ben A'an , Ben Venue and Ben Ledi. Surrounding you there is an abundance of wildlife to spot: ospreys, red squirrels and pine martens to name a few. There are numerous activities for every age and interests, clay pigeon shooting, horse riding, guided walks, 4x4 safari's, quad biking and sailing are all available. For the adventurous Aberfoyle has a high wire forest adventure, with the longest zip wire in Britain. There is also a local 18 holes golf course. Acorn Cottage is located in the heart of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, in the popular village of Aberfoyle. This single storey cottage is beautifully presented, with great attention to details. The lounge has two leather sofas, a large wood burning stove and large picture windows making the room bright and airy. There is a large kitchen, fully fitted and well equipped with a dining area. The kitchen has access straight onto the decking at the side of the property leading to a spacious garden with raised patio area. From the back of the garden there is direct access onto the hillside and ancient woodland. Both bedrooms are beautifully co ordinated, with satellite TV and DVD. This fantastic cottage is nestled down a quiet lane yet only 500 yards from all the village amenities. Guests of Acorn Cottage are welcome to the use of free river and loch side fishing. Loch Ard (4 miles) is simply stunning, with small islands and a crannog to explore; boat hire is available on the loch. This is an excellent location for outdoor enthusiasts with miles of forest trails to explore and the vast Queen Elizabeth Forest is right on the door step.
