With much care, thought and attention to the finer details Hagg Hill Cottage now provides stylish and tastefully furnished self catering holiday accommodation. Painstakingly created by local talented craftsmen the mix of natural materials ensures this retreat blends beautifully with its surroundings. The open plan living space on the ground floor simply oozes character with its exposed beams and flagstone flooring. The bespoke kitchen features a Belfast sink and large range style cooker. The lounge area focuses upon a wood-burning stove ensuring Hagg Hill Cottage is a cosy choice regardless of the season. Patio doors lead out onto the private garden area where an abundance of bird life can be admired and where an adorable hand-built bridge crosses the pretty burn. On the first floor is an elegant and spacious bedroom; doors leading onto a Juliet balcony brings the outdoors inside; a perfect spot to enjoy the air and watch the amazing array of birdlife that call to visit. A modern en-suite shower room completes the picture. Hagg Hill Farm oozes historical interest; it dates back to 1720. Today, the extremely friendly owners greet visitors with a very warm welcome to their newly refurbished establishment. There is a riding centre on the land where lessons can be arranged with qualified A1 instructors and livery can be made available if required. Hagg Hill Farm is a family run business and fully approved by the British Horse Society Riding Centre and Livery Yard. The talented owner is also an enterprising glass artist; guests cant fail to be impressed when visiting her workshop |

Hadrian Cottage is a semi detached cottage in the village of Heddon-on-the-Wall just eight miles from Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The cottage has two twin bedrooms and one double (with a shower cubicle) and two family bathrooms which make it suitable for six people. The rest of the accommodation is made up of a kitchen, a dining room, two sitting rooms and a conservatory. To the outside of the cottage is off road parking for two cars and a small enclosed garden with outdoor furniture and a barbecue. With the city of Newcastle Upon Tyne close by, Hadrian Cottage is a perfect base for exploring this part of Northumberland.
Situated south of the River Tyne is Heddon-on-the-Wall, on the line of the old Hadrian’s Wall, with a section of wall still visible at the edge of the village. The village is surrounded by farms and open countryside, yet nearby the historic village of Wylam, the birthplace of George Stephenson, and also the town of Corbridge, which has an array of small shops. Just fourteen miles away from Heddon-on-the-Wall is the town of Hexham with its Abbey, Old Gaol and town centre. The slate flooring throughout the ground floor is sublime and the multi fuel stove in the lounge ensures a warm welcome awaits guests whatever the season! The quaint stable door from the kitchen leads to a raised patio area where the lovely views can be enjoyed - a haven for a spot of relaxation.... Westgate sits within the Wear valley and is surrounded by unspoilt countryside. The village marks the western entrance of Stanhope Park, the Prince Bishops' deer park and the area is renowned for its wildlife and Siltt Wood, which is now a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Visitors will enjoy the 1/3 mile woodland walk leading to the spectacular sight of High Force, England's largest waterfall only 12 miles away from Dales View Cottage. From its rise as a trickle, high on the heather-capped fells of the North Pennines; the River Tees steadily gathers pace then spectacularly drops 21 metres into the plunge pool below. Only 15 miles further up the Pennines is the remote market town of Alston; it sits 1300 feet above sea level and claims to be the highest settlement in England, and is the starting point for the South Tyne Railway.
