This detached brick-built, former railway-crossing cottage is located on the borders between Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire. Just one mile from the village of Throckenholt, the cottage is set on the edge of a 10-acre site, planted with many young trees providing excellent habitat for birdlife. The accommodation inside offers cosy, traditional, country-style living, however it is also well equipped with all modern amenities. There are two bedrooms, a fitted kitchen with separate dining room and a lounge with wood-burning stove. There is also a private garden, suitable for children and dogs, with lawn and flower borders, as well as a patio area with garden table and chairs.
The small Fenland village of Throckenholt is typical of the area, set amidst artificially drained and primarily agricultural land that was once a seawater wash. Due to the unusual nature of the region, the area is popular amongst birdwatchers whilst the nearby town of Wisbech provides glorious Georgian architecture and a number of exciting shops. Within the town visitors can explore The Brinks - largely considered the finest Georgian streets in England – which are frequently used for period productions in both television and film, such as the BBC production of ‘David Copperfield’. Octavia Hill – one of the founding members of the National Trust - was born in Wisbech in 1838 and her birthplace is now a museum. |

The market town of Long Sutton is situated in south-east Lincolnshire, close to the borders of Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.
