Treetops is a cosy first floor flat located on the charming Isle of Bute. The island nestles just off the Cowal peninsula and can be accessed by ferry from Wemyss Bay or Colintraive. Treetops enjoys an elevated position overlooking the village of Ardbeg which sits between Port Bannatyne and Rothesay. From the lounge window the view is eastward over the sea, with a fantastic panorama of the Firth of Clyde, over to the Cowal hills and Wemyss Bay. The small galley kitchen is well equipped. The bedroom is spacious with a double bed at one end and a single bed at the other. The flat has access to its own private enclosed garden area with outdoor seating and garage, ideal for storing bikes and canoes etc. A ten minute stroll will take you down to the sea front and Port Bannatyne with its new Marina and award winning pub being less than a mile away. The Isle of Bute has an amazing amount of activities and places of interest to visit for such a small island. You're bound to find something for all the family to enjoy. The fabulous Victorian Gothic Mount Stuart House is a must to see. Rothesay is famous for its Victorian sea front, promenade, putting green and palm trees! You could while away an afternoon strolling along the esplanade, wandering in and out of the various shops, exploring Rothesay Castle or watching the ferries come and go, perhaps even go on the Paddle Steamer Waverley in the summer months. There is a local swimming pool and the Winter Gardens have been converted into a cinema and tourist office. For outdoor enthusiasts there are many activities - walk the West Island Way or hire a bike and explore the island. There is trout fishing on Loch Fad or the Quien Loch (permits required); alternatively you can cast a line out to sea. From the coastal roads seals and an abundance of birds can be seen. There are three golf courses, 4 bowling greens, tennis courts and pony trekking is also available. There are many archaeological finds with over 5,500 years of history on the island, so a visit to Bute museum is very interesting. Sea kayaking around the island can be enjoyed and boat hire is available. The island provides lots to see around the villages and historical sites. There are many sandy beaches to explore, like the west facing Ettrick Bay which is ideal for family outings, with its excellent tea room at the end of the Tramway Walk from Port Bannatyne a great place for all.Property is all on first floor level, heated by electricity. |
