Whiting Bay Cottage is a lovely detached bungalow with a stunning uninterrupted sea view and is located at the south easterly corner of the Isle of Arran. Situated within the picturesque village of Whiting Bay, this cottage has two bedrooms and a large lounge/diner; the large picture windows which wrap around the corner of the building offer a fantastic view across the Firth of Clyde and towards the Holy Isle. Positioned on the shore front, roadside, in the heart of Whiting Bay, you can easily walk to the shops and restaurant. The cottage is bright and spacious providing ample space for a family of four. From the comfort of the lounge there is a panoramic view of the sea for guests to bird watch as the gannets dive for fish or oyster catcher's peck amongst the rocks. Whiting Bay offers many amenities including a golf course (six more can be found around the island), bowling green, pubs, restaurants and general stores. There is a great walk up to the Glenashdale Falls, the Giants Graves or enjoy a stroll along the beach when the tide is out. Leisure facilities can be found on the island. Arran is an island with two distinctly different halves, from the green farmlands of the south to the rocky mountainous north and is often described as "Scotland in Miniature". This varied countryside provides both low level walks and great mountain climbing. Goat Fell is the highest mountain at 874 metres. The main road hugs the coastline so the seashore is never far away where seals, basking sharks, otters and an abundance of birds can be admired. In the north there are red deer on the hills and eagles soaring above and there are great biking trails to suit all levels and abilities. There are numerous boat excursions available, one being a day trip to the Holy Isle. At Lamlash discover Scotland's first marine conservation area - a "No -take zone". Whiting Bay provides a great base to explore "Scotland in Miniature".Property is all at ground floor level, heated by electricity. |
