The countryside surrounding New Cumnock is renowned for its beauty, with the river valley Glen Afton often visited by the Scottish poet Robert Burns, and the river Afton itself immortalised in song. Burns' visit itself has been memorialised in the form of a stone cairn and picnic area. There are stunning links golf courses in the area, including the seaside course at Ayr, the town which also offers plenty of bars, restaurants and a sandy beach. Benview Lodge is one of six lovely new wooden lodges, only recently completed during Easter 2008. The lodge is in the heart of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park and is an ideal location to explore this beautiful area with its fantastic scenery and abundant wildlife. North facing, the Lodge looks out to the Ben Ledi Hills in the distance and Ben Lomond is to the West. French doors from the lounge lead out onto a lovely covered balcony area at the front. The main entrance is ramped and all ground floor rooms have wide door openings, light switches at waist height and the bathroom is large and spacious. The Lodge has free use of the on-site Hot Tub, which is housed within a log cabin. The Lodge sits in an open spacious grassy garden and is only a short walk from the on-site coffee shop. There are lots of activities for every age and interests in this area.
