The Property

A superb stone built cottage situated in a truly fantastic position overlooking Craster harbour and offering splendid sea views. The property has a long history with parts dating back to the 17th century when it was used as the original summer bathing house. Completely modernised and rebuilt, the property offers superb holiday accommodation in what is arguably one of the most scenic positions in Craster. With full central heating it makes a cosy retreat at any time of the year. All the village amenities are just a few minutes walk away and the dramatic ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle are a short walk along the cliff tops.

Three bedrooms: 1 x large double with colour TV, 1 x double (small room with limited hanging space), 1 x single. Ground floor shower room with shower, WC and washbasin. Extra cloakroom on first floor with WC and washbasin. Superb spacious open plan living room with delightful harbour and sea views, fitted kitchen area and pleasant dining and sitting areas. Please note: The first floor is accessed via a spiral staircase.

Craster was an important fishing harbour in the 17th century and is still famous for its oak cured kippers, produced for the finest breakfasts for over 150 years. This picturesque village appears to tumble into the sea, and offers a pub serving food, Robson's famous fish shop, a fish restaurant, and a great children's playground to keep the little ones amused. A selection of Northumberland's finest sandy beaches are within easy reach, and other visitor attractions include Howick Hall which was built in the 18th century and has associations with the Grey family, including Earl Grey. The gardens are open to the public during the spring and summer season, and are well known for their spectacular displays during rhododendron season. The coastal footpath provides stunning walking opportunities, including a northerly walk that takes you to the impressive ruins of the largest ruined castle in Northumberland - Dunstanburgh Castle.

Electric hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, automatic washer/dryer, dishwasher, 2 x colour TVs etc. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen inc. in rent. Off road parking for two cars. Patio/sitting area overlooking the harbour below (young children and infants would need to be supervised). Strictly one well behaved pet welcome (£10 charge). Sorry no smoking.
