The Property
Situated in the scattered and isolated crofting township of Conista, within the surrounds of Duntulm, in the far north of the Trotternish Peninsula of Skye, Ridge End Cottage enjoys spectacular views over tranquil crofts to the sea and distant mountains. Unusually designed, the traditional, whitewashed exterior of this detached cottage belies its modern décor, with a cathedral ceiling and a mezzanine bedroom. The high standard of craftsmanship, cosy furnishings and amount of wood used give a warm, welcoming atmosphere. With great hill and coastal walking, and boat trips nearby, the cottage is an ideal wildlife and birdwatcher's retreat. The elusive Corncrake inhabits a number of crofting meadows nearby, and a sighting of the rare Merlin is possible. Along the seashore and lochs, otters and seals patrol the sheltered bays. Seabirds including diving gannets, cormorants, guillemots and puffins abound. A stay at Ridge End Cottage promises to be a memorable holiday indeed.
Three bedrooms: 1 x ground floor double, 1 x ground floor twin, 1 x spacious mezzanine double. Ground floor shower room with shower, basin & WC. Open plan living area with fitted kitchen, folding table & 6 chairs, & sitting area with woodburner. |
