There are plenty of festivals held in Sligo with the 10 day Arts festival in late May and the South Sligo Music School - a festival of music and dance in July. Located just under 1 hour from Knock Arirport and a convenient base for touring the Northwest.

In the Sligo area there is Strandhill which is famous for its seaweed baths and surfing school.
